Hello guys and a happy Sunday to you. How has your weekend been? Mine has been very nice. This is a quick post of what I wore yesterday.

Can you tell that am wearing the top in this post back to front? I absolutely love this top and own them in different colours.

This was also my first attempt at braiding my own hair, really pleased with the result and a big thanks to Youtube. I look forward to this new journey of self styled hair.

Have a lovely week!!!!IMG_2371

Metallic Culotte

IMG_2175

Hello guys, my love for culottes have grown bigger, literally!!!!. This metallic culottes got me in all the right places. It’s high waisted and can easily be thought of as a skirt because of the volume. I recently discovered Solace London and their impeccable taste in culottes. I must say that they are a bit pricey for me but I just couldn’t resist the sheer elegance and uniqueness of this particular culottes.

Sometimes wearing metallic can make you look shiny and on a mission to Mars. I have kept the accessories in the look to a minimum. The white top also ensures that the culottes remains the main focus of this look and gives it a neutral tone.

What do you think about wearing metallics as a day outfit?

SKORT

Skort: try these & this

Hello guys, I’ve never been one for wearing shorts simply because I have the sort of thighs that rub against each other. This can appear very unflattering and  embarrassing, especially when walking. Trust me, I have been in situations where am having to adjust my shorts because they have come up high and it wasn’t a comfortable situation. The idea of having a short that looks more like a skirt in front prevents these embarrassing situations. I know the skorts have been there for a while, but now just seem more appropriate for me to start rocking the look. Hope you like.

Happy Sunday Guys, hope you are having a lovely weekend. I actually don’t know what to write about in this post, so am just going to go for the colour blue.

Blue is such a warm colour and have actually being described as the world’s most favourite colour by a YouGov poll in 2012 which included 10 countries. I know 10 countries don’t exactly make up half the world’s population but when it includes china and the US, I guess we can safely say that we are almost there. I also like blue very much and have said in a previous post that I consider it my favourite colour, however my favourite colour changes all the time depending on my mood and how nice the outfit looks in that particular colour.

I find blue a very warming colour, which like black can almost work in any outfit.

OFF WHITE + WHITE

IMG_2035

Hello guys, hope you had a lovely weekend. There is something about wearing an all white outfit that gives you that fresh and clean feeling. Although it can be worn all season however nothing says bring on the summer more than an all white outfit.

Sometimes an all white outfit can appear boring especially when they are in the same shade and texture. I have paired my white jeans with a blouse that has a different shade and texture. This break in fabrics makes for an interesting outfit. A pair of neutral heels ensures that there is no distraction to the monochromatic feel of the outfit.

Let me know some of your tips for wearing an all white outfit this summer by leaving your comments below.

Flares

Flares are a part of 70’s fashion that are making a huge comeback this season. They are a complete opposite to the skinny or boyfriend jeans that we have been used to.

Any kind of flares will do for the season, however I prefer wearing flares that are high waisted because they tend to cinch in the waist and create a flattering silhouette.  I  have paired my flares with this white top because of the intricate details of embroidery and little fringes, which adds a bit of bohemian feel to the outfit.

Summer lace

IMG_2009

Lace is such a cool femine attire which has been around for a very long time. It is not even a fashion trend. However I have noticed the influx of lace everywhere on the high street, from a lace crop top to a full on lace dress. Forget brides and weddings, lace has become an every day outfit for the modern woman and can absolutely be paired with anything.

This H&M lace dress is so perfect for summer, not only is it a good price but it is flirty, can be worn to summer weddings and would flatter any body shape.

For this post, I decided to go for a neutral tone, pairing the lace dress with rose gold accessories

Let me know what you think about this outfit or wearing lace as an everyday outfit by leaving your comment below.

Spring Culottes: The Man Repeller

Tags

Culottes here

Culottes are fashionable in a feminist kind of way because it is not your usual fitted kind of trousers that we all have been accustomed to. They are also known as the “man repeller” which I can attest to because of my own experience with the hubby. He just doesn’t understand why women would want to wear something that is “neither short nor long, has very little fitting, unflattering and dowdy” These were his exact words. So when I decided to pair mine with an oversize blazer, you can imagine the shock horror in his eyes.

Culottes can be very stylish if worn right. I have found that the high-waisted one’s are ideal for someone of my height and I always have to pair them with heels to avoid looking like am being swallowed by my own clothes. For this post, I have gone for an all white ensemble with a little hint of brown.

Do you think Culottes are the fashionable “it” wear or are you yet to be convinced?

Monochrome Dungarees

Black comprises everything. So does white. They possess absolute beauty: they are in perfect harmony. —Coco Chanel

I do not consider Monochrome a trend because it is timeless and can be worn  all season, it is a simple way of looking stylish and elegant without even trying. For this post, I have paired a black dungarees with a black and white T-shirt to achieve that monochrome look. It is always nice to pair a monochrome outfit with a pop of colour which ties the whole look together. I have gone with yellow because it represents sunshine and goes very much with the monochrome look.

Sheer lace skirt

Hello guys, I hope your week went well, I am absolutely in love with this lace skirt which I bought from River Island last year. The beauty of the skirt is the sheer lace which adds elegance and sexiness at the same time. There are obviously different ways to style this type of skirt such as with a crop top or a blouse.

For this post I decided to style it with a peplum jersey top and a belt for added edge.

How would you wear yours?
